St. John's UCC Preschool Newsletter
(by Denise Haase, from the June/July 2008 newsletter)

May is here and all the students have been through the Life Cycle Change.  The 4 year old butterflies have all flown away to kindergarten and the 3 year old caterpillars have been through the Chrysalis Phase and are now butterflies.

School ended with two awesome field trips.  The 3 year olds went to the YMCA and had a great exercise session. Special thanks to Elizabeth Hardin for facilitating the event.  The 4 year olds made the long journey to Evansville, with “how much longer” being asked a few times.  The Children's Museum was fantastic and we didn't want to leave.  The water park was voted the best part.

Our Mom's Day Celebration was a huge success with the release of the butterflies being a wonderful sight. The parents enjoyed the songs and the highlight was “Bazooka Bubble Gum.”  Special thanks to Brian Fillingim for his time and talent putting the song on CD.  The children loved making their own ice cream sundaes best.

Our last week of school was spent reviewing ABC's, 123's, and colors by using games. BINGO was voted favorite-O.  The last day was a blast!  We watched a movie, and the kids loved the teen room couches and pillows!  The weather was great-we played with chalk, bubbles and water balloons outside also.

This has been a wonderful, rewarding year and I am thankful to all the members and staff at St. John's UCC for your support.
